Hastings High School – Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme

Hi everyone,

Please see below the email we have recieved from Latisha Powell at Hastings High School.

Kind regards
BGC

Hi,

I hope that you are well.

I work at Hastings High School as a PE teacher and the Manager of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme.

This new academic year, I am running the Bronze DofE Award for a class of 28 vulnerable students. For their volunteering section, which they must complete 1 hour a week for 6 months, we are going to support St Catherine's Church in maintaining their churchyard. We are also going to be creating a small garden area at Hastings High School where we will look after chicken and ducks, grow vegetables, and sell the produce.

Currently, St Catherine's Church and Hastings High School have very limited supplies of gardening equipment. We are therefore, kindly asking for any donations of unwanted, but still usable, gardening equipment to be delivered to Hastings High School reception FAO Latasha Powell.

The equipment will also be used for future DofE groups and maintaining the school's garden area.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanking you in advance,

Latasha Powell

Teacher of Physical Education

Manager of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award
