November 2016 – Linda Smith Waterside Nursery – Wildlife Visitors to your Pond

Linda gave an extremely interesting talk on the various wildlife creatures that visit and live in garden ponds.  She talked about the different pond plants which are used by the inhabitants of the pond for procreation and survival and also the best way to manage the plants.  Newts, frogs, toads, different types of snails, dragon flies and insects all form part of the lifecycle of a pond, Linda used detailed pictures to illustrate her talk, which covered plants through the seasons.  She also told the meeting that the Nursery is moving to a new location and will no longer be able to have visitors, however, if anyone has any questions they can be contacted either by phone, 01455 273730 or their website www.watersidenursery.co.uk.
