THINGS TO DO IN THE AUTUMN
All of a sudden summer starts to close down and we start to think about getting our gardens and allotments ready for winter. Here are some jobs to think about and if you’ve got the energy put into practice.
Keep watering whilst conditions are dry, especially camellias, rhododendrons and azaleas, as next year’s buds are forming.
Plant up spring bulbs.
Harvest fruit.
Lift and divide perennials.
Finish trimming hedges and pruning shrubs to neaten and prevent wind damage.
Get your tender plants winterised by lifting or mulching.
