A Busy November Meeting

A series of fund raising events throughout 2023 by Burbage Gardening Club, including the Garden Show in August, resulted in the presentation of £800 to Canine Partners, a charity that trains dogs to support and partner people who would otherwise have difficulty living independent lives. The money goes towards socializing and training puppies at their training centre in Ashby de la Zouch, and supporting volunteer puppy handlers in their homes at the start of the socializing process. For more information about the charity and how you could get involved or support the work that they do go to  https://caninepartners.org.uk/

Howard Drury presented a new style quiz called ‘Howard’s Great Gardening Quiz and Tips’. Its musical approach proved to be informative and entertaining with a lot of humour. After identifying ‘Build me up Buttercup’ by The Foundations we learned that Clematis are part of the Buttercup family and that they like cool roots. Overall an entertaining evening.
