Membership Application

The Club was formed as Burbage Allotment and Gardening Association (BAGA) on 30th August 1946 with the aim to promote horticultural interest in the local area.
The Club was renamed to Burbage Gardening Club (BGC) in December 1998.

The Club holds a monthly social meeting with speakers on gardening related topics held at the Burbage Constitutional Club, Church Street commencing at 7:45pm. As part of the social activities, organized trips to gardens and places of interest including one visit to an RHS garden with free admission to BGC members are made available each year.

We have a privately run Gardening Supplies Store exclusively for Club members (next to the Woodland Avenue allotment site) offering many products at competitive prices. We have a discounted seed scheme and supply onion sets in autumn and spring and shallot sets and seed potatoes in the early spring. The Store is open every Sunday morning except over the Christmas and New Year period and is also open on Thursday evenings from April to the end of August.

We hold an Annual Open Show on the 3rd Saturday in August each year at Hastings High School including the prestigious and well supported Dahlia Championship. The Club has previously planted the hanging baskets, seen around the village, for Burbage Parish Council twice yearly in May and October.

Visitors are always welcome to attend social meetings at £5 per meeting or yearly membership is £15 per person. There is a one off £2 charge on joining the Club to cover administration.

We look forward to seeing you at a social meeting or one of our events. Contact details for the committee can be found on the contacts page of the website if you would like further information.
