Snowdrops at Colesbourne Park Saturday 22nd February 2025
The gardens at Colesbourne Park are celebrated for their stunning display of rare snowdrops each February. These exquisite plants blanket ten acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, offering enchanting walks through wooded areas, alongside the famous blue lake, and through both the new Spring Garden and the formal garden. This collection is now regarded as one of the finest in the country. The 40 people who filled the coach were treated to a spectacular show of snowdrops, thanks to the glorious sunshine.
On the day of our visit, the gardens were closed to the public due to a water-logged car park, giving us the entire place to ourselves. The weather and snowdrops were breathtaking, and we were fortunate to have Katie, the head gardener, provide us with a private tour. She shared fascinating details about the history of the collection and its ongoing maintenance. Refreshment stops at Gloucester Services on both legs of the journey were much appreciated by all.
