2019 Plant Auction and Presentation to WLCFR

The show sub-committee chose West Leicestershire Community First Responders group as the show charity for 2019. At the July plant auction social meeting, Derek Windybank from WLCFR was invited to talk to members about the work of the group. Derek spoke for about 15 minutes and answered questions from the members. The plant auction then got underway with Nick Harrop as auctioneer assisted by Derek Lloyd.

At the October social meeting Derek from WLCFR was presented with a cheque for £900. Derek is pictured receiving the cheque from Linda Barratt, BGC Chairperson, and members of the show sub-committee. Derek thanked the club for their donation and explained how the money would be used. The £900 sum was made up from the proceeds of the July plant auction and donations in lieu of an entrance fee at the annual show in August plus the sale of donated items at the members supply store in Woodbank.
